Not long ago when we bought our first home we knew almost nothing about mortgages or how to go about getting one. We talked to a lot of people who had gone through the process and used the services of a mortgage broker on recommendation. We asked lots of questions. every step of the way we asked our mortgage broker what to expect so that we could better understand the mortgage process. Even so, there were a few hidden 'surprises' along the way. Things our mortgage broker should have told us, things we specfically asked, yet we were still misinformed about. On top of all this were all the things that we didn't even know to ask about or consider beforehand. Like they say, "you don't know what you don't know". Well, we know a lot more now. We've also done quite a bit of research "after the fact". Instead of keeping it all to ourselves we decided to create this website in the hopes that we could help others to be a bit more informed and prepared than we were. Buying a home is a major investment for most of us. Whether it's your first time buying a home or not, familiarizing yourself with the entire mortgage process will make the experience a lot less stressful. You'll be glad you did. |
